My first Cupping Massage

As part of a new partnership with Massage Experts, I went for an amazing Massage Therapy session that included some Cupping… Have you heard of this technique?

Cupping therapy is an ancient form of alternative medicine in which a therapist puts special cups on your skin for a few minutes to create suction. People get it for many purposes, including to help with pain, inflammation, blood flow, relaxation and well-being, and as a type of deep-tissue massage.

My therapist, Larbi (@benmostkine on Instagram), explained to me that would help get some blood flow to my injured shoulder, which would help with my recovery.

In Harvard Health magazine they state that “cupping is supposed to draw fluid into the area; the discoloration is due to broken blood vessels just beneath the skin, much like a bruise. Cupping has been popular in Egyptian, Chinese, and Middle Eastern cultures going back thousands of years, but increasing numbers of people worldwide have been adopting it.”

Does it hurt? No…
Do I recommend it? I say, why not..
Do the bruises stay for long? He said a couple of days…The pictures you see here were taken 36 hours after the massage!

For now, go check Massage Experts and ask me for a discount code if you decide to go!!!
